According To Oxford Dictionary ...
Jealousy can be defined as an emotion; the term generally refers to the thoughts or feelings of insecurity, fear, concern, and envy over relative lack of possessions, status or something of great personal value, particularly in reference to a comparator.Jealousy can consist of one or more emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness or disgust. In its original meaning, jealousy is distinct from envy, though the two terms have popularly become synonymous in the English language, with jealousy now also taking on the definition originally used for envy alone.
Jealousy is a typical experience in human relationships, and it has been observed in infants as young as five months. Some claim that jealousy is seen in every culture; however, others claim jealousy is a culture-specific phenomenon.
The Right Reaction to Jealousy Jealousy is a function of love. Someone might be jealous of you, but the truth is that they do love you but just don’t know how to show it. Hence, they choose to express themselves through jealousy, even though that the worst possible way to go about it. Three ways to deal with jealousy:
1. Remember your purpose:
When people get jealous of you, one of the things that they might do is to criticize you for doing your purpose. But you must learn to see it as a compliment. People who aren’t going anywhere in life actually want you to go with them, and people that aren’t doing anything with their lives want you to do it with them. And the problem is that, if you don’t, they’ll begin to hate and criticize you.
2. Keep improving:
There’s something you need to realize when dealing with jealousy. You mustn’t budge or go backwards because of them. You must come to understand that their criticism won’t hurt you unless you allow it to. Critics should actually make you do things better, while haterz should make you do things faster.
3. Ignore them:
Everyone has got some brain, and they are usually well aware when they’re making others feel sad and sullen. Hence, if someone chooses to criticize you for being yourself, it’s their choice and there’s nothing you can do about it, hence, simply ignore them. Go away from people who spend all their time sending bad comments at you. And if they’re on social media, block them off your list. Finally, ignore and get away from negative people. And surround yourself with positive people.
