There is no gainsay to the fact that lecturers in Nigerian Institution contribute to the students failure consciously and unconsciously.
By mandating a student who can not afford to buy a text before such student can be given marks even if the text doesn't even contribute to such student knowledge this may actually pave ways for failure directly and indirectly.
Though, the students failure may due to his or her lackadaisical attitude and negligence nature of some students but unconsciously Nigerian institution lecturers contribute inmensely to the negative impact toward students failure, the first one I would like to make mention is ....
1. Transfer of aggression: some of these lecturers undoubtedly pass through this despicable act they are surely the product of this mediocrity, when they were in school they experienced the same thing that pave for these shortsighted lecturers to follow the trend.
I was fortunate to be in lecture room in one of the Nigerian Universities one day when the lecturer said "whoever wants to have an "A" in this course should raise up his or her hands" as expected, majority of the students rose up their hands in elation, to my dismay, the lecturer said, in the same lecture theater this same course in 1989 had 40E, the students shouted.
2. Students To Lecturer Ratio: as stated in the national University Commission that students to lecturer ratio should be 30 students to 1 lecturer , this rule has been breached by many Institutions in Nigeria and this has led to one of the factors that is leading to poor performance of the students. This Aspect should not be treated with levity hands by the ASUU And ASUP though it may not be their fault but Nigeria issue as a whole but ASUU can have impact in decision making body of federal government by abandoning their work in other to raise funds in educational sector, they should not only take to the street when their salaries have not being paid.
3. Nonchalant Attitude Of The Lecturers while Lecturing ; This factor has become part of some lecturers while teaching students. Some lecturers don't care wether the environment is conducive, the students comprehend or comfortable with the atmosphere or not. They will keep teaching with these flaws, this has proved as one of the factors bordering Nigerian educational sector.
