These Are The Advantages Of Low CGPA

lot of people answered the question beautifully above. Now I would like to share my perspective about it. Let me respond to each of the point already mentioned above:

1. You can take risks in life, as in you are more likely to go for a startup.

That's something like 'do or die' situation. With limited number of companies to sit in for placements and peer pressure, you have no option but to churn your mind like anything to achieve something in life. That may lead to innovation and enhance your probability for starting a venture. But have you ever wondered the success rate of startups: less than 2%. Of course that shouldn't be a deterrent, but keeping in mind the lack of experience as a major factor for failure, working for a few years and gaining corporate experience isn't a bad idea.

2. With high grades come great expectations and hence pressure.

This argument is valid in the way that people become a part of rat race in order to maintain their high CGPA and meanwhile lose interest in what they actually like. But do you think these situations aren't going to come in future. It's not that if you become a CEO of a company, life becomes a bed of roses for you. You would still need to set priorities and work accordingly in order to stay at the top. So in my opinion, it's better to learn it early.

3. Stunning others with your superb performance and set an example for low CGPA fellows.

I too read inspiring stories of successful people like Steve Jobs, APJ Abdul Kalam, etc. Can awe alone make me successful? Obviously no. I need to realise my potential and interests and work dedicatedly to achieve something big. My point is, one needs inner motivation and not lectures alone to get inspired. As regards excellent performance is concerned, even a high CGPA fellow can do so. In fact I have seen more such people around rather than ones who had a low CGPA.
